No I will not eat ice cream

Good morning fellow followers whom I love! So as I said in my last post I met with my amazing coach Sandy last week and yes I think she is mad lol ok well she would never actually be mad at me but I did get my new cardio workout and hot damn I am working my little booty off! I have hard sprints, stair sprints, elliptical sprints, bleachers and sprints, and a day of my choice. Hardest cardio I have ever done...all because I couldn't say no to that dang ice cream...stupid me. So my husband and I are down in Arizona this week well for the next two weeks for me and for the next 3 months for him as he is starting medical school down here haha and I still have to finish my student teaching in Utah. This is going to be really difficult for me considering he is my ROCK and my everything so I am planning on throwing myself into my school and into my training which will be difficult because I know the only reason I succeed last time is because he was there helping me every step of the way...ok random rant but I have reason I swear! So it is a 10.5 hour drive from Utah to Arizona and lets just say that when you cant snack on food during a road trip well it gets kind of boring and 1.5 gallons of water is just fun haha. So we are driving and we stop (yet again) because I have to pee and there is a Carl's Jr. across the street from the gas station and what is their newest invention...A POPTART ICE CREAM SANDWICH...what kind of sick joke is this? I love pop tarts after my last competition I ate 8 pop tarts for breakfast it was disgusting and obviously ice cream is my fav thing to eat haha! So I couldnt stop thinking about then yesterday I get to the gym and start doing my sprints at a 7.5 (which for me is crazy fast because I think running at a 5.5 or 6.0 is hard) and I am like oh yeah thats why we don't eat pop tart ice cream sandwiches haha! So there is my random rants for the day! I missed you all and wanted to update you on my life! I am on track for September and October so wish me luck! If you are in Utah or are planning on visiting during the competition let me know and I will get you details! Love you all! Xoxo--- Akundis #beastmodeon

September Show

Hello everyone! So I went and saw Sandy today (in case you don't know that is my trainer!) and she said I can do the September 21st NGA show if I kick butt and get on track. Let's be honest right now Ice Cream ruined my life and I wont have it again until the end of October if I do haha I LOVE ICE CREAM but enough is enough. I now have to loose 2 pounds a week for the next 8 weeks to compete...holy crap! I have 60 days until the competition but I think I can do this I just have to kill it! I am extremely excited about it and I want to step on that stage RIGHT NOW but I am not ready yet haha. I am also going to do the October 19th NPC show so that will be kick butt too but really hard! It is going to be a hard competition but I am so ready to get back into my bikini body and shape! Let's do this!!! (short post but I don't know what else to say) Come support me and the other competitors! It is going to be fun! Xoxo-- AKundis

Courage

Hello readers! Let me talk to you today about a little thing called courage...so this Saturday I decided to do my first Shirtless Cardio Saturday (running in a sports bra) as part of my what you eat in private you wear in public approach. I ate ridiculously clean this week and decided that since I am back in training for September 21st it really can only go up from here. So I did it I took off my shirt and honestly I was more scared to do that then to walk out on stage in front of 1000 people in my tiny bikini. I don't know why but it was scary and it took a lot of courage. One quote that has really stuck out to me this week is this:
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. --Nelson Mandela

I feel like this week I triumphed over something that even when I was in my best shape scared me to death. However I know that I have been working so hard and nothing will stand in my way this time and being afraid is pointless. I can accomplish my goals no matter how long it may take or what obstacles I have to overcome. Again another quote that has been on my mind a lot this week is:
I may not be the strongest
I may not be the fastest
But I will be damned if I am not trying my hardest.

This is the life style I have chosen to take myself on and everyday through the battle in my head of why are you doing this to your self I remember the feeling I had on that stage and knowing that in that single moment I had done everything I possibly could to be proud. Even though this journey has been incredibly hard...who am I kidding? This is the HARDEST thing I have ever done every second, drop of sweat, sore muscle, restless nights sleeps, awnry times, it is all worth it. My husband asked me the other day if Sasha (my trophy haha) was really worth it. I believe that it is...I finally have a greater cause to work towards that is just for me and no one can ever take this away from me. So as I made my family an amazing dinner of Parmesan honey chicken, homemade rolls, salad, and an amazing smelling chocolate cake and debated about "cheating" to have some I decided to write down why I love this and my feelings from this week instead. It is worth it, it is just food and when I am done sure I can have some.  I have never been more empowered and ready to kick butt. Bring on September and October because I am going to be a force to be reckoned with and I can't wait! If you want to participate in my Shirtless Cardio Saturday do it! Tag that on instagram and tell me about it go do something this week that challenges you and pushes you out of your comfort zone because you are worth it! Xoxo-- Akundis

Q & A (Food and Workout)

Good Morning everyone! Like I said I am going to try to post more! SO I have been getting some questions through my instagram and my email and LOVE THEM! So you should always ask me questions! Ok my #1 asked question is my meal plan...well first off I am unfortunately  not one of those girls who woke up one day and just figured everything out this was a huge process of trial and error I started on bodybuilding.com with the Jamie Eason diet and workout plan which would have worked really well IF I hadn't only done it kind of half way and actually ate her meal plan she is incredible! Then I got a personal trainer at 24 hour fitness and she mapped out a healthy eating meal plan for me and I lost like 10 lbs and 8% body fat it was great! But I wasn't getting the competition results I needed so I hired a trainer who specialized in this specific thing her name is SANDY HANCOCK and yes I swear by her she is INCREDIBLE! If you need a trainer or a meal plan or what not you should check her out she does online training and other stuff she is incredible! www.bodybysandy.com (check it out) so that is where I can start after that long explanation whenever people ask me the best way to eat I say clean and this is what I mean this is an example meal plan pretty close to what I am eating now:

Breakfast:
4 Egg Whites
3 Oz Yams (I put cinnamon, allspice, and a packet of stevia on them)

Snack:
Protein Shake
1/4 Cup Oatmeal (cooked or dry)

Lunch:
4 Oz Chicken (seasoned with Ms. Dash seasoning)
1 Cup of Greens (My fav with chicken is broccoli)

Snack: (Fav meal of the whole day haha!)
2 Lightly Salted Rice Cakes
1 Tbsp. Peanut Butter (Spread on rice cakes)
1 Small fruit (I usually do an apple)

Dinner:
4 Oz White Fish
2 Cups Veggies

Snack:
Protein Shake

Yes I eat 6 times a day every three hours. I am a grump when my food is 3 hours and 1 minute over haha! My meal plan changes every 3 weeks while I am training I start a new one on Monday and I am going to share my FAVORITE recipe that I have! I think you all will love it! It is my Shrimp and Mango Salad...DELICIOUS!

Onto my second question I get asked a lot...How often do you work out? Well I work out 6 days a week (Sunday is church/ family day for me) I always do cardio 6 days a week and I weight train 5 days a week. It is broken down into different muscle groups.

Monday: Hamstrings and Chest (this day is a killer!)
Tuesday: Shoulders and Abs
Wednesday: Biceps and Triceps
Thursday: "Rest Day" (Cardio only)
Friday: Quads and Calves
Saturday: Back and Abs

If you have specific questions for me ASK ME! I want to hear them I am really trying to be better about answering them and helping people! I love doing this and I think everyone should have the opportunity to feel this way!
